The scratch game was originally developed by me, Wesley in 1999/2000 and was marketed under the name SureScratch. As the internet bubble burst in the 2000k and advertising dollars went away, so did the scratch game. My day job of sitting in a small office lining up advertising and mailing out prizes was over.
So, about a year ago when I was surfing around on the web doing the social network thing, I thought I would have a little fun with my friends. I pulled the old scratch game code of the shelf; and put it back online for my friends to play, but only as a joke. A couple of them won a house, another won a billion dollars and many won cars too. Then I started getting messages from people I didn’t even know asking if they could play too. One problem, they thought it was real!
After asking some of my younger friends if they’ve ever played LuckySurf, WorldWinner, FreeLotto or Iwon, all of them said they’d never heard of these sites. Huh, a completely new online generation who have never played online sweepstakes!
I started to look around at social networks and what was left of online sweepstakes. I found very little. The only thing I found was the recent re-launch of Iwon that mentioned they would be integrating aspects of social networks on iwon.com.
So, now we have the all-new online scratch game known as ScratchLotto. With
a new look, and its ability to grow virally with no advertising money needed,
it’s poised to provide more prizes and more fun for users and their
friends.
